Energy Efficiency Programs

The Custom Rebate New Construction Program provides customers with financial incentives for installing qualifying electric savings measures including HVAC systems, motors, variable speed drives, lighting, building controls, pumps, etc. Energy efficiency measures must be installed in a new facility, or in a facility undergoing major renovations. Customers may apply for individual or multiple efficiency measures within the same facility.

All custom rebates are individually analyzed to ensure that they pass the Societal Benefit/Cost Test. Any measure that is pre-qualified (evaluated prior to being installed) must produce a Societal Benefit/Cost test result of 1.0 or higher. In addition, the project’s incremental payback must be greater than two years.

Small General Service Customers will first be evaluated to determine eligibility for the Prescriptive Rebate Program. If eligible, prescriptive rebates will apply.

Custom rebates are calculated as the lesser of the following:

• A buydown to a two year payback, OR
• 50% of the incremental cost

One customer may submit multiple rebate applications for different measures. Each individual measure will be evaluated on its own merits. Similar measures that are proposed in different facilities or buildings will be evaluated separately.

However, during the first six months of the Programs, no customer may exceed the Maximum Incentive Amounts Per Customer, as shown in the table below:
PLEASE NOTE THAT MAXIMUM INCENTIVE AMOUNTS ARE DIFFERENT FOR MISSOURI AND KANSAS CUSTOMERS:

After the initial six months of the Programs, the same Participant may submit an additional application that puts that Participant above the maximum incentive amount.
